Trouble importing 3D scans

Hello there,

I'm currently trying the 3D object recognition but I have trouble generating trackers.

I always have trouble importing 3D scans.

I used Autodesk Remake, but the result was awful.

I used Autodesk 123D Catch, but the result there is also not quite good or sometimes inexistant (I think my last scan crashed, because it says they're still processing the pics and it's already been a full day...)

I tried a mobile app called Scann3D, which is really quite good, at least on my phone. If I import the object as it is on your portal, coordinates are mixed up, resulting in the object being in an ackward position. I tried opening it in Blender to correct it, but Blender didn't open the textures with it, and they're not mapped correctly anymore. I also tried to open it with Autodesk Remake but there again the textures end up with holes.

Do you know of any other 3D scanner that I could use to do this? Or do you know a procedure I can follow to try and correct what I've been doing?

Thank you in advance.

Amandine

Hi,

I'd suggest Agisoft Photoscan, which is not free, but the standard version is not expensive at all and works very well.

Let us know if this helps.
